The ROPPA is an initiative of farmers’ and agricultural producers’ organisations of West Africa. The ROPPA was formally founded in July 2000. It is a network which only gathers organisations of farmers and agricultural producers.
The ROPPA wishes to promote and defend the values of an efficient and sustainable agriculture in favour of family farms and agricultural producers. It also enables and ensures the representation of farmers’ and agricultural producers’ organisations at the sub-regional, regional and international levels.
Today, the ROPPA is present in Benin, in Burkina-Faso, in Ivory-Coast, in Guinea, in Guinea-Bissau, in Gambia, in Mali, in Niger, in Senegal and Togo. It remains open to the other countries of the West African region.
